African Nations plans to use a single currency (Eco) among members


The Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government on Saturday received ECO as the name of the single money to be issued in January 2020.
ECOWAS is comprised of 15-part nations. They are Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.
The pioneers at their 55th Ordinary Session in Abuja embraced the name while complimenting the Ministerial Committee on the Single Currency for the impressive advancement recorded in the usage of the changed guide.
In the report perused by Mustapha Suleiman, Nigeria's Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Authority trained the ECOWAS Commission to work as a team with West African Monetary Agency.
